Managing Mercury Spills

Mercury disposal must be done carefully. Flourescent lights contain mercury.



This site has detailed information on how to clean up mercury spills www.epa.gov/hg/spills. The Groton Transfer Station at 600 Cow Pond Brook Road, Wed-Sat 7:30-4:30 takes mercury containing items such at fluorescent bulbs and thermometers. Recycling is free and you don't need a sticker to recycle.
