Passports
The Groton Town Clerk's Office is a designated U.S. State Department Passport
Acceptance Agency.
Passport applications are available in the Town Clerk's office, and can
be downloaded from the
U.S. Department of State web site. The web site contains information on documents
and photos required, fees charged, and answers to travel-related questions.
We recommend that you download and complete your application, gather the necessary
documents, and obtain passport photos prior to arriving to our office. The passport
applications and forms can also be found on the U.S. Department of State web site. We accept passport applications
during normal business
hours.
Please arrive at least 1/2 hour prior to closing time, with extra time if
more than one family member will be applying at the same time.
Payment to the U.S. State Department for the passport must be a check; however,
for the town fee, we can accept cash or check. We cannot accept debit or credit
cards. Please note that the U.S. Dept. of State fee and the Town fee will be written on separate checks.
Feel free to contact us with any questions about this service. See the
Town Clerk contact information.
